Paronychia - Causes, Symptoms And Treatment

What is paronychia?
Paronychia refers to an inflammation of the nail fold. It can be acute or chronic. Paroncyhia is usually caused by staphylococcus bacteria or fungi.
Paronychia has two types: -

    
* Acute paronychia: - Acute paronychia develops over a few hours when a nail fold painful, red and swollen. Sometimes yellow pus appears under the epidermis. In some cases, acute paronychia is characterized by fever and painful glands accompanied by the poor.
    
* Chronic paronychia: - Paronychia is an infection of the skin around the fingernails (the nail folds). "Acute paronychia" the term for short-lived episodes is: is "chronic paronychia" when it lasts longer than 6 weeks. It is often grumbles on for months or even years. Treatment of Paronychia

* In bacterial paronychia, soaking hot water 2 or 3 times per day to reduce inflammation and pain.
    
* Apply antiseptic or antifungal lotions regularly twice daily to the nail fold - Appropriate application forms are sulphacetamide, thymol, miconazole, ciclopirox.
    
* Wash thoroughly with soap and dirty work, rinse and dry thoroughly.
    
* Apply an anti-yeast cream or lotion to the inflamed areas several times daily. Sometimes a steroid in the production accelerates healing.
    
* Let hangnails alone. Carefully cut your nails, but avoid it cuts short.
    
* If the nail was bandaged to keep the bandage dry until it is changed for the first time. Then you start soaking the nail before applying any new association.
