What is Nail Patella Syndrome?
Nail Patella Syndrome is a genetic disorder of the connective tissue that produces defects in the fingernails, kneecaps and kidneys. Nail Patella Syndrome (also called Fong's Disease is characterized hereditary Onycho-Osteodysplasia ['Hood'] by some typical malformations of the arms and legs as well as kidney disease and glaucoma. The hallmark features of nail patella syndrome are bad fingernails, toe nails, develops and patellae (kneecaps) .
