Leukonychia - Causes, Symptoms And Treatment of Leukonychia

What is Leukonychia?

Leukonychia is a medical term for white spots appear on the nails. Leukonychia can be poisoned with arsenic, a rapid heart disease, kidney failure, pneumonia, or hypoalbuminemia.
Common causes of Leukonychia

      * Chronic exposure to moisture or nail polish can produce brittle nails with peeling of the edge of the nail.
      * One can crush injury to base of the nail or the nail bed to produce a permanent deformation.
      * The most common cause is damage to the base (matrix) of the nail.
      * A lack of copper and zinc in dody.
      * fungi or yeast produce changes in color, texture and shape of the nails.
      * Vitamin deficiency can lead to a loss of luster or brittle nails

The symptoms of Leukonychia

Some of the most common symptoms of Leukonychia are: -

      * White nails.
      * Abnormal colored nails.
      * Skin cysts.

Treatment for Leukonychia

      * foods such as wheat bran, whole grains, nuts and green leafy vegetables should be consumed in daily life attributed to the lack of zinc, the appearance of white spots.
      * To stop nail changes caused by biting, picking and tearing nails, these behaviors.
      * For brittle nails, keep the nails short and avoid nail polish. Use an emollient (skin soft) cream after washing or bathing.
